My good friend Blair came down to visit me this evening; we worked together at Sound to Sea…and we had a blast! First we went to the Trinity Center to be nostalgic, then we ate sushi at California Roll….then, we went to our favorite watering hole in Beaufort called, Backstreet Pub. Here is a short video
I didn’t realize it while I was making this video, but every time I ask Blair a question, I am actually looking at the camera! It looks silly.

So I am sitting here, trying to clean up, but also entertaining my nephew. Little did I know the depth of his understanding of the internet; he is 5 years old.

Well, we start talking about cats and dogs, and while doing so I am cleaning and he is opening up a wikipedia article on the subject as well as playing 2 youtube video cartoons of, you guessed it, CATS AND DOGS!!! Amaaazing!
Earlier this morning, I’m watching television and he jumps over to my father’s laptop (a RHCE cert. Sys Admin specializing in security) and logs in to play Tux games….WTF?!?!
How did he do that? entertaining?…yes…scary?…also yes

Apparently, Duke University’s Pratt School of Engineering and Imperial College London have found a way to manipulate the electromagentic spectrum to cloak objects , using ‘metamaterials’.
It’s actually quite fascinating! And although it’s hard to imagine the implications, technology like this could expose the Wizarding world!!
Electromagnetic waves would flow around an object hidden inside the metamaterial cloak just as water in a river flows virtually undisturbed around a smooth rock
here is the link for the news story:
